HOW TO GET HERE?

PUERTO GUADAL

 

This village is located in the Aysén Region of Chilean Patagonia. Puerto Guadal is on the southwest bank of the General Carrera lake, approximately 280 km south of Coyhaique, the capital of the region.

 

Important to know is that the only cell phone service in the whole of southern Patagonia is ENTEL

By Air

The nearest airport is Balmaceda (Coyhaique) where daily flights arrive offered by LATAM and SKY Airline coming from Santiago, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas. Aerovias DAP also offers weekly flights coming from Punta Arenas.

By Land

If you are traveling by car, you have to take into account that all the roads south from Coyhaique are unpaved (except the section from Coyhaique to Villa Cerro Castillo – Puerto Ingeniero Ibanez). It is highly important to drive with precaution and keep in mind that .. “Who hurries in Patagonia, looses track of time”.

IF YOU WANT TO TRANSFER IN BUS THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS

The first option is a small bus which travels twice a week directly from Coyhaique to Puerto Guadal.

The second option are several bus companies that leave daily from Coyhaique to Cochrane and stop at “Cruce Guadal”(this junction is approximately 9 kilometers from Puerto Guadal).

By Water General Carrera Lake

Every day there are buses (Coyhaique – Puerto Ingeniero Ibanez) that connect with the “Barcaza Tehuelche” which goes to Chile Chico.
From Chile Chico buses go directly to Puerto Guadal in the afternoon.
